Russia and China on 22 March opposed the United States' draft resolution on the Gaza Strip at the UN Security Council.
According to RIA Novosti, in addition to Russia and China, Algeria also voted against the US resolution, while Guyana decided to abstain.
Russian representatives noted that they disagreed with the absence of a direct call for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in the draft resolution proposed by the United States.
According to The New York Times, the purpose of the draft resolution was to emphasise US President Joe Biden's opposition to the ground operation in the city of Rafah planned by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
