In Geneva, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, took part in a series of important events dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the country’s independence.

According to her official page, she held a meeting with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The discussion focused on reforms in Uzbekistan, the challenges of joining the WTO, and the importance of trust and partnership. Saida Mirziyoyeva thanked the WTO chief for her support, stressing that Uzbekistan remains committed to its reform agenda.

Mirziyoyeva also delivered remarks at a reception marking Uzbekistan’s 34th Independence anniversary. She spoke about reforms, resilience, and values that unite people across borders.

A highlight of the visit was the announcement that a “Uzbekistan Room” will soon be opened at the United Nations building in Geneva. This cultural space will symbolize the country’s openness to the world and serve as a venue for dialogue within the multicultural community.
