During her visit to the United Kingdom, Saida Mirziyoyeva held a series of high-level meetings aimed at deepening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK.

She met with Baroness Arielle Malard de Rothschild, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and insightful tour. Mirziyoyeva emphasized that Uzbekistan today is a rapidly developing country with a clear reform strategy and a strong economic foundation, noting that Rothschild & Co plays an active role in these transformation processes.

As part of the visit, Mirziyoyeva attended a roundtable discussion titled “New Uzbekistan – A Big Country with Big Opportunities”, highlighting that over 270 British companies now operate in Uzbekistan and that this number continues to grow.

At the London roadshow, she met with Lucy Rigby, the Economic Secretary to the UK Treasury. The sides exchanged views on Uzbekistan’s reform agenda and the country’s progress toward joining the World Trade Organization, with Mirziyoyeva thanking the British government for its full support.

British business representatives presented their ongoing projects in Uzbekistan and shared future cooperation plans. Mirziyoyeva noted that their objective perspective reflects the real, profound changes taking place in Uzbekistan, earning the confidence of business communities with centuries-long traditions.

Her visit concluded with a meeting with UK Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy, during which they discussed human capital development, implementation of Cambridge programs in Uzbek schools, launch of Uzbek language studies at Oxford, and the involvement of native English-speaking teachers.

Mirziyoyeva underlined that such initiatives strengthen friendship and cultural ties between the peoples of both nations.
