Business
Today, we held a productive meeting with a business delegation from the U.S. state of Utah, led by David Bednar. During the discussion, we noted with satisfaction that a new stage has begun in the development of Uzbekistan–U.S. relations.
It was emphasized that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decision to introduce a visa-free regime for U.S. citizens will be an important step toward expanding business and humanitarian ties between our countries.
According to the Presidential Decree, an American–Uzbek Business and Investment Council will be established to coordinate bilateral cooperation. In addition, a new position of Counselor–Minister will be introduced within the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States.
Under this Decree, residents of Uzbekistan will be allowed to freely transfer funds from their domestic bank accounts to create enterprises, participate in their capital, or replenish the accounts of their subsidiaries in the U.S.
This marks a significant step toward strengthening the foreign economic activities of Uzbek entrepreneurs, deepening investment cooperation with the United States, and shaping Uzbekistan’s new image as an open and modern economy.
