Nine kilometres of the Juyzar Canal have already been concreted, while work is underway on another 10 kilometres. Once completed, the project is expected to save around 12 million cubic metres of water annually. A fishery has also begun operating near the canal.

A new modern kindergarten with capacity for 240 children has opened in the Shaykhoncha mahalla.

Tourism infrastructure projects were also discussed. They include the Afshona complex, the development of ethnographic houses, restoration of the historic Juyi Muliyon Canal, construction of hotels and the creation of a tourism cluster near the new airport.

According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, these projects are intended to increase the annual tourist flow to 10 million visitors and turn Bukhara into a full-fledged travel destination rather than simply a transit point.

The visit concluded with a visit to the shrines of the Seven Pirs of Bukhara.
