Samarkand Marathon to Bring Together Runners from Around the World on 7–8 November
Uzbekistan
Samarkand Marathon, the final race of the Samarkand Marathon Series 2026 season, will take place on 7–8 November. International interest in the competition has grown significantly: so far, 1,583 participants from 63 countries have registered. Registration is still open.
The race will start at Registan Square, with the course running through Samarkand’s historic centre and past the city’s architectural landmarks. The route will give runners the opportunity to compete against the backdrop of the city’s historic heritage.
Samarkand Marathon is organised as a charity event. All funds raised will go towards building children’s sports grounds in the regions where races in the series are held. The initiative combines mass participation in sport with efforts to expand sports facilities for children.
Alongside the main races, the programme includes inclusive distances, plogging — running while collecting litter — and the Samarkand Marathon EXPO. Running tours and a concert will also be organised for participants and visitors.
The event will bring the Samarkand Marathon Series 2026 season to a close. With registration still open, the number of international participants may increase before race day.
