The two-day visit will include discussions on enhancing services for Uzbek pilgrims, who represent a significant portion of visitors to Mecca and Medina. In particular, measures will be considered to strengthen oversight of service companies responsible for transport, accommodation, and Umrah arrangements.

One of the key topics will be supporting airline operators and expanding their presence in the market to make travel more affordable and comfortable. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is actively implementing digital technologies in pilgrimage management. The "Nusuk" electronic platform already allows pilgrims to plan their journey in advance, apply for a visa, book transport and accommodation, and schedule their rituals.

By the end of 2024, more than 461,000 Uzbeks had performed Umrah, placing Uzbekistan among the world’s leading countries in pilgrimage numbers. Improving service infrastructure aligns with Saudi Arabia’s "Vision 2030" strategy, which focuses on modernizing facilities and introducing innovative solutions.

Major projects are also underway to expand areas around the two holy sites, build new zones for pilgrims, develop transport hubs, and establish modern medical centers. Special attention is being given to eco-friendly technologies, renewable energy sources, and a multilingual navigation system, including services in Uzbek.

This visit underscores the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia in the field of religious tourism.
