On February 21, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, held a telephone conversation to discuss pressing issues related to further developing and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
They reviewed the results of implementing the agreements reached during the Russian President’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May last year, in accordance with the "roadmap" approved by the leaders.
The active dialogue and exchanges at various levels were highly praised. Special attention was given to ensuring the growth of key trade, economic, and investment cooperation indicators, as well as supporting industrial cooperation projects in the regions of both countries.
The leaders also expressed satisfaction with the expansion of humanitarian cooperation, particularly in culture, arts, science, education—including the training of engineering specialists—healthcare, and sports.
Additionally, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia exchanged views on international issues and discussed plans for upcoming events.
