Russian Defence Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu said in his speech at the 10th Security Forum in Xiangshan that the probability of nuclear war is increasing.

Shoigu: the probability of nuclear war is growing and promises catastrophic consequences
According to him, the West has set a course to increase tensions with Russia, which could lead to a military conflict between the nuclear-armed states. "The West's regular efforts to escalate relations with Russia threaten a military clash between nuclear powers and promise catastrophic consequences," he said.

Shoigu said that the war in Ukraine showed that the US and NATO's calculations regarding Russia were in vain: "Having provoked an acute crisis in Europe, the West is seeking to spread the conflict potential to the Asia-Pacific region. The direct involvement of states possessing nuclear arsenals in the confrontation multiplies strategic risks."
