SSS Uncovers Scheme Collecting Money for Terrorists Under the Guise of Gaza Aid

Uzbekistan

The State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan has issued an urgent warning: international terrorist organizations have begun mass-exploiting the religious sentiments and compassion of citizens to finance their crimes. Under the guise of fundraising for Gaza residents or helping sick children, money is being funneled to purchase weapons.

Criminals are actively circulating emotional posts on social media, calling for aid to Muslims in conflict zones or vulnerable women and children abroad. Investigations by security services have confirmed that funds transferred to the cards listed in these ads are not spent on food or medicine. Instead, they end up at the disposal of terrorist groups and are used to organize attacks and activities leading to the death of innocent people.

The SSS also warns citizens against sharing their personal data with strangers. Fraudsters often ask unsuspecting individuals to open bank cards or crypto wallets in their own names. Subsequently, these accounts become tools for money laundering and financing extremism.

The agency reminds the public: being unaware of exactly where your money went does not exempt you from liability. Any support for terrorism—whether financial or intermediary—is a serious crime. In Uzbekistan, such actions carry a severe penalty of up to 15 years in prison. Be vigilant and trust only verified, official foundations.
