Uzbekistan and South Korea have agreed to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation, focusing on economic, technological, and social collaboration while enhancing oversight of joint initiatives.

A meeting was held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan between First Deputy Chairman Sodik Safoev and Kim Sok Ki, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the National Assembly of South Korea.

The parties noted the steady development of bilateral relations based on trust, mutual respect, and strategic partnership, positively assessing the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.

Particular attention was given to inter-parliamentary cooperation, which has reached a new level in recent years. The format of meetings between speakers of Central Asian parliaments and the Republic of Korea was highlighted as an effective platform for dialogue and joint solutions.

The sides discussed enhancing the work of inter-parliamentary groups, strengthening parliamentary oversight of agreements, and expanding cooperation between профиль committees.

They also agreed to exchange legislative experience in areas such as the green economy, artificial intelligence, and poverty reduction.

The importance of deepening cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, healthcare, and education was emphasized.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further strengthen inter-parliamentary ties.
