The vibrant event titled "We, Robots" took place at the Warner Bros. Discovery studio. Before stepping on stage, Musk approached the robotaxi and conducted a short demonstration along the well-maintained streets of Hollywood.

Musk reiterated his previous statements that the cost of autonomous transportation would be so low that it would resemble "individual mass transit." He stated that he expects the average operational cost of the Cybercab to be around $0.20 per mile over time.

"And you will be able to buy one," Musk said, adding that the price of the vehicle would be below $30,000.

At the event, Tesla unveiled a surprise in the form of the Robovan — a sleek autonomous bus that can carry up to 20 people and also transport goods. No timelines were announced for this vehicle, only hints at a future that could "change the look of the roads."

Musk also introduced roughly a dozen humanoid robots, Optimus, sharing his vision of a future where robots act as friends and helpers at a cost of around $20,000 to $30,000.

The robotaxi, which currently has no steering wheel or pedals, is still in testing mode but is promised to be released on the road by 2026-2027.
