Turkish Foreign Ministry: We should not expect the end of the conflict in Ukraine in 2024

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan does not see any possibility for the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine this year. He said this on the air of CNN Türk.
The Minister noted that in 2024 there is no foundation for the resolution of this issue. There are no prospects for the settlement of the conflict in the near future either, Fidan added.
Describing the conflict as a "boxing match that is very costly", Fidan said Türkiye sees the threat of the conflict spreading to Central and Eastern Europe and is very alarmed by talk of nuclear weapons.
"The reality is that this has become a war of attrition where the losses are high and there is no victory. Resources are used, lives are taken and the risk of escalation increases. Türkiye is extremely concerned about this risk," Fidan said.
It should be noted that on 3 March, Türkiye pointed out the limits of Russia's and Ukraine's military capabilities. Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry called for finding ways to organize dialogue between Russia and Ukraine.
