The Imam Maturidi Complex Gets a New Look
In accordance with the decree of the head of state, last year our country celebrated the 1155th anniversary of the birth of Abu Mansur Maturidi, the founder of the Aqidah school in our country. In connection with this, reconstruction and improvement work began at the Chokardiza Cemetery in Samarkand.

A 250-seat mosque, main entrance portal, research center, library, museum, and parking lot are being built on the 10.2-hectare site.

During construction work at the Chokardiza Cemetery, the burial site of the great Islamic jurist Burhaniddin Marghinani was discovered, and his mausoleum is currently under construction there.

In memory of the eminent scholars, suras from the Quran were recited.

After inspecting the construction work, the head of state noted that this site is a pilgrimage center for Muslims worldwide and emphasized the need to create conditions there that meet the demands of the times.

"Anyone visiting this complex should, first and foremost, gain a clear understanding of the scientific and spiritual legacy of Imam Maturidi, his status in the Islamic world, and also feel that the educational views of this great scholar remain relevant today," the President said.

Instructions have been given to ensure that the construction work is completed efficiently and on time, and to increase the area of green space on the site.
