According to a decree signed by Chief State Sanitary Doctor Aizhan Esmagambetova, Kazakhstan has reintroduced the mandatory use of medical masks in medical organisations for staff and visitors, as well as the mandatory availability of antiseptics.
This is due to the strengthening of preventive measures to prevent the spread of airborne infectious diseases such as measles, COVID-19 coronavirus and influenza.
Moreover, the population was advised to wear masks in crowded places, such as airports, railway and bus stations, markets, shopping malls, theatres and cinemas.
