In our country, special attention is being paid to expanding the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products using local raw materials. Currently, there are 47 ceramic tile manufacturing plants in the country. Last year, they produced 47.2 million square meters of products, covering 128.6 percent of domestic demand.

In accordance with the presidential decree of December 16, 2024, aimed at the socioeconomic development of the Fergana Region, the Crown Ceramic joint venture was established in Kuvasay in 2025. The project, with a capacity of 8 million square meters of porcelain stoneware tiles per year, is capable of producing products worth 1 trillion soums, creating 665 billion soums in added value, and exporting products worth $35 million.

The plant utilizes 97 percent of its local raw materials. Most of this comes from quarries in Kuvasay and Angren in the Tashkent region. The production process uses 600 tons of sorted stone, 100 tons of red kaolin, and 100 tons of gray kaolin daily.

Large-format porcelain stoneware, which is rare in the Central Asian and Eastern European markets, is produced here. The plant produces products in six different sizes.

The plant creates high-value-added products from ordinary river stone. Processes for the production of feldspar and the purification of carbonaceous impurities in kaolin have been established. This plays a key role in the production of high-quality porcelain stoneware.

Production processes are fully digitalized, using energy-efficient equipment. Particular attention is paid to environmental requirements: modern dust collection and filtration systems have been installed. Rainwater is collected and used in production. A closed-loop system for cleaning and recycling wastewater has been created.

Thanks to modern technologies, energy consumption during raw material preparation has been reduced by 20 percent. During the day, production is carried out using natural light.

The ceramic tiles produced here, in terms of quality and technical characteristics, can compete with products from Italy, Spain, and China. From January to March of this year, the company exported 80,000 square meters of products worth $400,000 to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. To expand its export geography, contracts are planned with Kazakhstan, Russia, and European countries.

Currently, the company is conducting research and development to localize imported glaze materials. A new $20 million project, which will produce 50,000 tons of glaze per year, is scheduled to begin operations in September 2026. This is expected to create an additional 100 jobs, increase exports by $10 million, and enable the company to meet 85 percent of its glaze needs internally.

The head of state reviewed the production and storage processes, implemented technologies, and export plans. It was emphasized that such joint ventures play an important role in the development of the region's economy through the advanced processing of local raw materials and the creation of high-value-added products.
