Karkidon will become a flagship for active tourism
This site is expected to become one of the most attractive ecotourism and active recreation destinations in the Fergana Valley.

In accordance with the presidential decree of April 1, 2025, a modern tourist complex worth 635 billion soums is being built here. The road infrastructure has been improved, and landscaping work is ongoing.

The complex, covering 508 hectares, combines agritourism, ecotourism, and extreme tourism. It includes 45 chalets, 57 modern guesthouses, an agritourism complex, a flower park, lavender fields, an eco-bazaar, quiet corners, and restaurants.

During his tour of the newly created facilities, the head of state noted that such projects are crucial for improving the well-being of the population, developing the region's economy, and boosting the country's tourism potential. He emphasized that tourism is an effective way to promote the country internationally, create new jobs, and expand service exports.

The project plans to establish over 100 businesses and create approximately 2,000 new jobs. The complex is expected to welcome 750,000 tourists annually, generate 3 billion soums in budget revenue, and generate $5 million in service exports. Full operation of the complex is scheduled for 2027.

Motocross tracks, a 2-kilometer cable car, and go-kart and golf courses will be built here. These facilities will transform the Karkidon complex into a flagship center for active tourism.

Responsible officials have been instructed to further develop tourism and services, create comfortable conditions for local and foreign tourists, and build a sustainable system that serves the interests of the population.

The head of state also inspected the new hotel and shopping malls. Future tourism projects were also presented.

Specifically, large tourist complexes are planned around Lake Karateren in the Takhtakupyr district, an artificial lake in the Khanabad district, the Kuksarai reservoir in the Khatyrchi district, Lake Arashan in the Pap district, the Sabirsay reservoir in the Nurabad district, and the Kattakurgan reservoir in the Kattakurgan district.

Such projects will contribute to expanding the country's tourism potential, developing the service sector in the regions, and increasing household incomes.
