The President is expanding support for talented youth
Uzbekistan
Support for gifted schoolchildren will be expanded in Uzbekistan - already in September, an international school for the best students will begin operating, and a national program for preparing for admission to the Ivy League will be launched.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with a presentation on improving the system of supporting talented youth.
In recent years, Presidential, specialized, and creative schools, as well as the "New Uzbekistan" University, have been opened in the country. Now the state faces a new task - to help the most capable graduates realize their potential at the world level.
One of the steps will be the opening of an international school, which will admit 60 students in the first stage. Training will be conducted according to international standards and will include academic subjects, specialized disciplines, and leadership courses.
Another important initiative is the National Program for Preparing Youth for Admission to the Best Universities in the World. This year, 3 thousand high school students will be selected and taught by mentors from Presidential and specialized schools. The program's top 40 graduates will have the opportunity to undergo an internship at Ivy League universities.
Also, a platform uniting young specialists who have studied abroad - the "Golden Fund Community" - will be created in Uzbekistan. Grants, startup programs, and other support measures will be provided for them.
The President supported the proposed initiatives and instructed to improve the work of the "El-yurt umidi" fund, through which 750 Uzbek citizens are currently studying abroad.
