It was noted with great satisfaction that bilateral relations have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. The talks focused primarily on economic cooperation. Last year, bilateral trade increased by 33 percent to $1.3 billion. The two countries have set a target of increasing this figure to $5 billion by 2030. As part of the visit, a portfolio of key joint investment projects was developed, and specific agreements were reached with a number of major Indian companies. During the talks, new areas of growth were identified for expanding cooperation in energy, critical minerals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, electronics, mechanical engineering, the jewelryindustry, and agriculture. The importance of continuing mutual support on international and regional platforms was emphasized, including within the UN, SCO, Non-Aligned Movement, and BRICS, as well as in cooperation with the countries of the Global South. Turning to cultural and humanitarian ties, it was particularly noted that four Indian universities operate in Uzbekistan and that the Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi centers are successfully carrying out their activities. It was also emphasized that the 30-day visa-free regime and 14 weekly flights between the two countries will contribute to the further development of tourism. The growing popularity of yoga in Uzbekistan and the active development of cooperation in this area were noted. The parties agreed to intensify political contacts and exchanges at all levels, including through parliamentary friendship groups, the Intergovernmental Commission, and the Business Council. To ensure effective coordination of interaction, the creation of a coordination mechanism at the level of heads of foreign affairs agencies is envisaged. During the talks, issues of further expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation were discussed in detail. The parties noted the significant potential for a significant increase in mutual trade volumes and agreed to take the necessary measures to bring the turnover to $5 billion by 2030. Special attention was given to expanding industrial cooperation and implementing new joint projects. Prospects for collaboration with leading Indian companies in energy, electrical engineering, metallurgy, critical minerals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and jewelry were highlighted. Particular attention was given to developing interregional cooperation. The establishment of close partnerships between the Andijan region and the state of Gujarat, the Fergana region and the state of Haryana, and the Samarkand region and Agra was noted. The parties also discussed the further expansion of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. An agreement was reached to regularly hold Culture Days, concerts, exhibitions, forums, and film festivals. The signing of a five-year Cultural Exchange Program is planned for the visit. During the talks, an exchange of views on pressing issues on the international and regional agendas also took place. The leaders noted with satisfaction the effective cooperation within international structures. The parties emphasized the need to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives within the UN, SCO, BRICS, and other international organizations. Following the meeting, the heads of ministries and agencies were instructed to ensure the active promotion of joint projects and programs.
