As part of a program of events in Belgrade, a ceremony was held to award the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with Serbia's highest state award, the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a Grand Chain.

The foreign ministers expressed &ldquo;serious concern over the lack of substantial progress in nuclear disarmament&rdquo; under Article 6 of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The statement also noted the expiration of key arms control agreements. According to the countries of the region, additional risks are being created by the &ldquo;alarming trend toward the modernization of nuclear arsenals.&rdquo; Against this backdrop, the ministers called for &ldquo;the urgent development of new, verifiable arms control mechanisms aimed at preventing a nuclear arms race.&rdquo; They also stressed the need to establish new nuclear-weapons-free zones in regions where such arrangements do not currently exist. &ldquo;We support efforts to create new nuclear-weapons-free zones in regions where they do not currently exist, including the Middle East,&rdquo; the statement said. The joint position draws on the experience of the five Central Asian countries. On September 8, 2006, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed a treaty in Semipalatinsk establishing a nuclear-weapons-free zone in Central Asia. Foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries have called on the international community to support the creation of new nuclear-weapons-free zones, including in the Middle East. The joint statement was published by Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry to mark the 20th anniversary of the signing of the treaty establishing the Central Asian nuclear-weapons-free zone.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban said the decision was aimed at protecting the country&rsquo;s security and sovereignty. Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ordered 10 employees of the Russian diplomatic mission to leave the country. Budapest said the individuals had engaged in activities “unacceptable for diplomats under the Vienna Convention.”

The talks took place during the CSI2* international show-jumping competition held at Gut Ising from September 2 to 6 as part of the traditional Chiemsee Pferdefestival. More than 300 equestrian representatives from around the world took part in the tournament. Bahromjon Gaziev, Chairman of Uzbekistan&rsquo;s Equestrian and Horse Breeding Federation, met with German equestrian specialist and Gugler Sport Horses owner Dietmar Gugler. He introduced the Uzbek side to Gut Ising&rsquo;s infrastructure and the conditions provided for keeping and training sport horses. The complex features modern stables, three indoor arenas and three outdoor training areas, a nine-horse horse walker, ten paddocks, a polo field and a gallop track. Nearby forest routes are also used for training. The stables are equipped with dedicated horse-grooming areas, wash stations and solariums. During the meeting, the sides exchanged experience and discussed further areas of cooperation. In particular, they agreed that Uzbek athletes plan to take part again next year in the international tournament held at Gut Ising. The parties also agreed to consider organizing training camps at the facility for Uzbek athletes and sport horses. Such preparation would allow riders to improve their skills, gain international experience and train at a modern European facility.
