During a telephone conversation on December 6, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being, and continued prosperity for the fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan.
Practical aspects of further deepening the Uzbek-Kyrgyz strategic partnership, friendship, and good-neighborliness were discussed.
The progress achieved in bilateral cooperation in recent years was noted with particular satisfaction. Contacts at all levels are continuing. Trade and freight volumes are steadily growing. Joint projects are being implemented in priority economic sectors. Active cultural, humanitarian, and interregional exchanges are underway.
Work is underway on the practical implementation of major strategic projects, including the construction of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway and the Kambarata-1 Hydroelectric Power Station.
The leaders also discussed current issues on the regional agenda.
