On April 1, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of China headed by the Head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao.
During the talks, key areas of bilateral cooperation, including investment projects, economic interaction, and cultural exchange, were discussed.
In recent years, Uzbek-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedented level. China remains one of Uzbekistan's largest trade and investment partners, and the volume of mutual trade continues to grow. Joint industrial and infrastructure projects, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, are being actively implemented.
The parties also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in such areas as combating poverty and corruption, digitalization, and industrialization. New initiatives in the field of education are planned, including the opening of branches of leading Chinese universities in Uzbekistan.
In addition, this year the Forum of Regions and the Educational Forum are planned, which should become an important platform for the development of interregional contacts and humanitarian exchanges.
The meeting reaffirmed the high level of trust and strategic partnership between the two countries, opening up new opportunities for deepening cooperation in all key areas.
