Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Timur Rakhmanov arrived in the Latvian capital today. This is reported by the Dunyo news agency.

He served as Consul General in the city of Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024. His consular district included the Siberian Federal District of Russia. He is 46 years old. He graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

He started working in the Foreign Ministry system in 1999. He worked in various positions in the ministry's central apparatus, as well as in Uzbek embassies in Poland, Italy and Spain.

He speaks Russian, English, Polish and Spanish.

Timur Rakhmanov replaced Kadambai Sultanov, who served as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Latvia in 2019-2024.
