Donald Trump stated on his Truth social media platform that if he were President, the Russia-Ukraine war would not have started, not Biden. He also wrote about understanding Russia's concerns regarding NATO's expansion and Ukraine's potential accession to the alliance.

Trump Accuses Biden in Russia-Ukraine War
"The problem is that Russia, long before Putin's time, had been saying for many years that NATO should not be in Ukraine. It was almost written in stone. But somewhere along the way, Biden said, 'No, they should have the chance to join NATO.' For Russia, having someone at their doorstep — it's understandable to their feelings," said Trump.

In his opinion, had Biden not been President, the war would not have started. Trump stated that after his inauguration, he planned to meet with Vladimir Putin and believed peace could be achieved within six months or less.

Earlier, there was no mention of him promising to stop the war in 24 hours. Ukrainian officials have not commented on Trump's statements so far.
