US President Donald Trump called on Ukraine to hold elections, noting that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was elected in 2019 and his support among the population has significantly decreased. This was reported by the New York Post.

The presidential election in Ukraine was supposed to be held in April 2024, but it was canceled due to martial law. Zelenskyy had previously stated that voting at the height of the conflict could lead to political disagreements within the country.

Trump also expressed doubts about the targeted use of American aid to Ukraine. He stated that the US has allocated hundreds of billions of dollars, but has not received a detailed report on how these funds are being spent.

"Where is all this money going? I've never seen a report on them," Trump emphasized.

It is reported that Trump's position on Ukraine has changed after his recent phone conversation with Vladimir Putin. According to him, the US did not start this conflict, but sooner or later, a dialogue on a peaceful settlement must take place.
