Trump froze tariffs for Canada and Mexico, but not for China

US President Donald Trump agreed to a 30-day postponement of tariffs against Canada and Mexico in exchange for concessions in border control and crime control issues. However, the 10% tariff for China will come into force in the next few hours, and Trump has threatened to increase it further.

Trump froze tariffs for Canada and Mexico, but not for China
The leaders of Canada and Mexico agreed to strengthen the fight against illegal migration and drug smuggling: Canada will deploy new technologies and employees at the border, and Mexico will employ 10,000 National Guard soldiers. In response, the United States committed to limiting the illegal supply of weapons to Mexico.

No such agreements were reached with respect to China. Beijing promised to challenge the tariffs at the WTO and take countermeasures, but left an opportunity for negotiations. Trump, on the other hand, insists that his tariff policy is necessary to protect the American economy and fight drug trafficking.
