Trump: NATO is targeting $1 trillion in annual military spending

US President Donald Trump announced plans to increase NATO countries' annual defense spending to over $1 trillion. He stated this at the North Atlantic Alliance summit taking place in The Hague.
"Almost all" NATO member states are accelerating their plans to achieve a defense spending level of 5% of GDP "very quickly," Trump said, speaking alongside US Defense Secretary Pete Hagset and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The White House chief emphasized that the current US share of the alliance's military budget is "much higher than others," which he considers unfair. At the same time, the increase in funding, according to him, will be a "significant gain" for the United States.
Trump also commented on recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, stating: "We think (the war) is over. I don't think they will attack each other anymore."
The President described the operation as "very successful." According to Trump, the strikes have pushed Iran's nuclear weapons development capabilities back "many years."
