The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was a historic event where Donald Trump was greeted with a standing ovation. The ex-president was noticeably emotional and repeatedly thanked those gathered, despite visible traces of the assassination attempt - a white bandage on his ear.

Among those present at the convention were famous personalities such as TV host Tucker Carlson, Rep. Byron Donalds, and Trump's sons Donald and Eric. This is Trump's first public appearance since the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, The Washington Post notes.

Let us recall that on the evening of July 13, at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Trump became the victim of an assassination attempt. The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, wounded Trump in the ear, killing one rally attendee and wounding two others. Crooks was killed by police on the spot, and explosive devices were found in his car.
