Ukraine Presents Partners with Terms for Future Peace
World
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has for the first time detailed the list of key security guarantees that Kyiv expects to receive from the US and Europe as part of a future peace settlement. Among the main conditions are the creation of an 800,000-strong army and membership in the European Union.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the completion of work on a basic package of documents for a future peace and security guarantees agreement with partners. According to him, the first drafts, important for ensuring the country's defense capability after the signing of the treaty, are almost 90% ready.
In his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy published key points that Ukraine wants to see in the agreement:
Military component: Creation of an 800,000-strong army with financial support from partners. The US should provide legally binding security guarantees and a "deterrence package" — weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Political integration: Ukraine's membership in the European Union.
Multilateral support: Formation of a "coalition of the willing" from 30 countries to ensure comprehensive security for Ukraine "in the air, on land, at sea," as well as in the areas of energy, finance, and humanitarian aid.
Zelenskyy confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation held negotiations with the administration of Donald Trump in the US and is now awaiting feedback from the American side, which continues dialogue with representatives of Russia. The president emphasized that Ukraine has provided partners with all the necessary information.
