Uzbekistan's two-time Olympic champion in taekwondo, Ulugbek Rashitov, received a two-year ban for violating anti-doping rules.
The International Testing Agency (ITA) officially announced the disqualification of Uzbek taekwondo athlete Ulugbek Rashitov for two years for violating anti-doping rules. The violations relate to three missed mandatory location information (whereabouts failures) committed within one year.
Rashitov did not dispute the charges and voluntarily agreed to the imposed punishment, in connection with which the case was closed on the basis of the agreement with the consequences mechanism, without conducting hearings.
According to the ITA decision:
It is also noted that Rashitov was part of the so-called Registered Test Pool (RTP), participants of which are required to provide daily accurate information about their location and allocate a daily 60-minute timeframe for possible unscheduled doping control. Violations committed three times within 12 months are classified as anti-doping violations under Article 2.4 of the World Taekwondo Anti-Doping Rules.
The decision can be appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in accordance with Article 13.2.3 of the WT Rules.
The ITA will not comment further on this case.
