US and Ukraine offer Russia a chance for truce
The United States has announced the resumption of military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine following talks in Saudi Arabia. The key outcome of the meeting was a 30-day ceasefire proposal, which Ukraine supported but is now awaiting Russia's response.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that Washington would forward this proposal to Moscow, stating, "Now the ball is on Russia's side." According to him, the American side hopes that Moscow will agree to the truce, which will be the first step towards "real negotiation processes."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the US initiative "positive" and stated that Kyiv is ready for such a step if the Kremlin accepts the conditions. He emphasized that within 30 days of the ceasefire, Ukraine and its allies will be able to work out long-term security issues.

The US intends to promote the initiative through several channels. Trump's national security advisor, Mike Waltz, will meet with his Russian counterpart, and President Vitkoff's special envoy, Steve, is planning to visit Moscow for talks with Vladimir Putin. Trump himself also expressed his willingness to discuss the situation with the Russian leader in the coming days.

The official Kremlin has not yet clearly reacted to Washington's initiative. Vladimir Putin had previously stated that a peace agreement is possible, but "not as a short-term truce," but on terms that guarantee Russia's long-term security.

Whether this diplomatic step will lead to real progress in resolving the conflict depends on Moscow's response.
