US authorities have announced an unprecedented increase in the cash reward for undocumented migrants who agree to voluntary deportation. Until the end of 2025, anyone who leaves the country through a special application will receive $3,000 and a free ticket home.

US Pays Migrants $3,000 for Voluntary Departure
The US Department of Homeland Security has increased payments for the 'self-deportation' of undocumented migrants to $3,000. The campaign, dubbed the "best holiday gift" by the department, will last until the end of 2025. The money is paid in addition to a free flight home.

The program operates through a special application called CBP Home. According to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, since the beginning of 2025, 1.9 million undocumented migrants have already voluntarily left the country, with tens of thousands using this service. The app not only guarantees financial assistance but also allows one to avoid fines for illegal stay and apply for legal entry into the US in the future.

The DHS emphasizes that such 'self-deportation' is a beneficial alternative to forced removal, which costs the state an average of $17,121 per person and closes the possibility of returning to the country. The program was launched in the spring with a payment of $1,000 and has now been tripled.

This initiative aligns with the Trump administration's tough course to reduce illegal migration. Previously, the president promised to conduct the "largest deportation operation in history."
