Watkins' 90th minute goal puts England into the Euro 2024 final

Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins got his moment of glory. More specifically - the 90th minute of the Netherlands-England semi-final match, when the ball crossed the Orange goal line after his shot. For the second time in a row, the English reached the Euro finals, where they will meet Spain.

Watkins' 90th minute goal puts England into the Euro 2024 final
The Netherlands got off to a great start, capitalising on their first opportunity. In the seventh minute, Simons took advantage of a mistake by Rice and shot powerfully (116 kilometres per hour, by the way) from outside the box. England, who have been criticised relentlessly since the first match and right up to the semi-final, this time showed their ability to get back into the game quickly. And after ten minutes they restored the balance when the referee, having reviewed the tape of the episode involving Kane and Dumfries, awarded a penalty to the Orange goal. It was realised by the victim himself - 1:1.

The less time was left until the end of the main time, the more the opponents thought about how not to make a fatal mistake in defence. This thought seemed to torment the English more - they practically did not go on the attack. The Dutch looked much more active against them, forcing Pickford to demonstrate his goalkeeping skills.

And then Southgate replaced Kane, it was slowly going to extra-time..... and it was Ollie Watkins' 90th minute of glory. He was the man who replaced Kane, by the way. Whether it was a brilliant idea of the England coach or it just so happened, but Watkins' precise shot from under de Vrij took England to the final of Euro 2024.

The decisive match will take place on 14 July in Berlin. Spain vs England. Who will win the title?
