Uzbek delegation to participate in UN World Climate Change Summit

A delegation of Uzbekistan will take part in the World Climate Summit, which is part of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change to be held in Dubai on 1-2 December 2023. This was reported by the press service of the President.
It is reported that one of the main topics on the agenda will be the environmental crisis caused by the drying up of the Aral Sea, which has become one of the most acute problems for the Central Asian region.
Representatives of almost all countries of the world, major international organisations and civil society will take part in the forum. The event is crucial for consolidation of international efforts to combat climate change and mitigate its consequences, financing climate strategies and transition to green energy.
It is noted that at the upcoming session of COP-28 in Dubai, Uzbekistan will put forward a number of proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening the fight against climate change at the national, regional and global levels.
Uzbekistan also supports important initiatives put forward by the leadership of the United Arab Emirates as chairman of COP-28.
