Uzbek Foreign Ministry delegation pays official visit to Astana

On February 19, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov paid an official visit to the capital of Kazakhstan.
The Uzbek Foreign Ministry delegation was received by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Both sides emphasized readiness to continue supporting each other's initiatives for the well-being and prosperity of the peoples of the region. Representatives of the Foreign Ministry held separate talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu.
Thanks to personal contacts, open dialog and determination of the leaders of the two countries, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has reached a new level. Both sides expressed readiness to make efforts to further strengthen good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership and alliance.
Particular attention was paid to plans for future events at various levels, expansion of the legal framework for cooperation, development of trade-economic and investment ties, implementation of new industrial and infrastructure projects, as well as strengthening of interregional cooperation and interaction in international organizations.
The foreign ministers signed a protocol on the results of consultations defining priority directions of bilateral relations and target tasks for the current year. They also approved the Regulations on the Council of Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as the decision to establish this Council.
At the end of the talks, the foreign ministers of both countries held a briefing for media representatives.
