In the Oliy Majlis, a meeting took place between Senate Chairperson Tanzila Norboyeva and the newly appointed Ambassador of Canada to Uzbekistan, Christopher Duggan. The parties discussed the prospects for strengthening multifaceted cooperation, including investment, science, education, and tourism.
Over the years of cooperation between the countries, more than 40 joint projects have been implemented, of which 10 belong to Canada. However, both sides acknowledge that the partnership's potential is far from exhausted. Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience in the field of youth employment, as well as the intensification of inter-parliamentary dialogue.
In addition, during the negotiations, the prospects for increasing Canadian investments in Uzbekistan, expanding trade and economic ties, and joint initiatives to protect the environment were discussed.
