Uzbekistan and India Hone Combat Brotherhood at Gurumsaray Training Ground
Uzbekistan
In eastern Uzbekistan, the next stage of strengthening the strategic partnership with India has commenced: the "Dustlik-2026" joint tactical exercises officially opened at the Gurumsaray training ground. Servicemen from both nations have joined forces to carry out complex combat missions and exchange unique practical expertise.
These maneuvers in the Eastern Military District mark the seventh iteration in the history of bilateral cooperation. Since 2019, the "Dustlik" (Friendship) exercises have been held regularly, becoming a key platform for enhancing unit interoperability. The primary focus of the 2026 program is directed at honing skills for modern armed conflicts, mastering new tactical techniques, and strengthening professional ties between personnel.
The grand opening ceremony underscored the growing level of trust between Tashkent and Delhi. According to the organizers, such joint sessions allow for more than just the exchange of knowledge; they help build a unified approach to regional security. The joint training at Gurumsaray will continue until April 24, during which the contingents of both states will undergo an intensive cycle of practical field exercises.
