Uzbekistan and Kuwait to Lift Restrictions on Flights by a Single Airline
Economy
The Uzbek delegation held talks with Kuwaiti officials during the ICAO ICAN-2024 event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Following discussions led by the director of Uzbekistan's "Uzaviation" agency and representatives of Kuwait's aviation authority, the two sides agreed on a new air transportation agreement. The revised document, jointly developed by the transport and foreign ministries of both nations, introduces updated terms for air services between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
Currently, flights between Uzbekistan and Kuwait are limited to one airline per country under an agreement signed in 1994. With new airlines emerging in recent years in both nations, this meeting aimed to expand flight routes for private airlines, fully liberalize the aviation market, and create broader opportunities for business enterprises.
