Uzbekistan and Malaysia: progress in implementing agreements

On July 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.
Current issues of further development of Uzbek-Malaysian multifaceted cooperation were discussed in the context of the implementation of the agreements of the visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Uzbekistan in May this year.
The noticeable intensification of interparliamentary, intergovernmental and business contacts was noted with satisfaction. On May 29, the first meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was fruitfully held in the city of Putrajaya. The Uzbek-Malaysian Business Council was created.
Special attention was paid to promoting cooperation projects between leading companies in industry, green energy, petrochemicals, electrical engineering and other industries.
Measures to implement joint programs of humanitarian exchange and pilgrimage tourism were discussed.
Current issues on the international and regional agenda were discussed, as well as the schedule of upcoming events at the highest level.
