New measures to combat crime, corruption, and human trafficking were discussed in Uzbekistan. Representatives of the UN and the Oliy Majlis agreed to strengthen cooperation using modern technologies to prevent offenses.

During the visit of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative Oliver Stolpe to the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, a meeting was held with the Chairperson Tanzila Norboyeva. The parties discussed expanding cooperation in combating drug trafficking, organized crime, human trafficking, and terrorism.

Special attention was paid to the issues of protecting human rights, ensuring gender equality, and creating decent working conditions. It was noted that Uzbekistan has achieved significant success in combating corruption, which has received international recognition. In addition, the country has progressed in solving the problems of labor migrants and improving its position in international rankings.

An important outcome of the negotiations was the agreement on the active use of modern digital technologies in the prevention of crimes and offenses. The parties confirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in this area to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement measures.
