The increase in volumes will be carried out through modernisation of the main system in the period from 2024 to 2030. It is planned to allocate $500 million for this purpose.

Uzbekistan intends to increase the volume of Russian gas supplies by almost 4 times
Uzbekistan plans to increase imports of Russian gas from 9 million to 32 million cubic metres per day (11.68 billion cubic metres per year). This is an increase of 3.6 times compared to current supplies.

In June 2023, a contract was signed to supply gas from Russia to Uzbekistan. Prior to that, Uzbekistan produced gas on its own and exported it to China and Russia. Deliveries to Uzbekistan started in October 2023, with a daily volume of 9 million cubic metres and an annual volume of 2.8 billion cubic metres.

Last December, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said that supplies to Uzbekistan had been doubled compared to the contractual values. He noted that the country received "the maximum technically possible volume of gas that can be transferred through the pipeline". In November of the same year, Miller announced Gazprom's plans to sign gas supply and transit contracts with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for 15 years by mid-2024. Gas is supplied to Uzbekistan via the Central Asia-Centre gas pipeline.
