"Uzbekneftegaz" and SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) may sign an agreement on the participation of the Uzbek company in the Shah Deniz project in the coming months," Kudratov said in Guba, Azerbaijan.

Kudratov noted that the issue of the share is still under discussion, it is a subject of negotiations. "We hope that this will happen soon," he added, responding to a question about the timing of the agreement.

At the same time, the minister added that a state visit to Uzbekistan by President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan is being prepared. "Of course, we aim for this visit to be filled with specific content. We will count on (the agreement being signed during the visit - ed.)," he said.

The contract for the development of the Shah Deniz field was signed in 1996. The parties' shares in the contract currently look as follows: British BP plc (project operator - 29.99%), LUKOIL (19.99%), Turkish TPAO (19%), Azerbaijani Cenub Qaz Dehlizi (21.02%), Iranian NICO (10%).

It is worth noting that Shah Deniz is the largest gas field in Azerbaijan.

"Uzbekneftegaz" is a vertically integrated company that unites more than 50 specialized organizations, including 13 joint ventures, 10 units for hydrocarbon production and processing, as well as a number of coordinated non-production and scientific-technical blocks.
