Uzbekistan plans to produce mineral fertilisers from green hydrogen

In 2025, 3 thousand tonnes of green hydrogen and a 52 MW wind farm will be put into operation in the country.
Uzbekistan will become one of the first in the world to produce mineral fertilisers from green hydrogen. This was reported by the press secretary of JSC 'Uzkimyosanoat' Rustambek Eshbekov.
It is noted that the secretary of JSC 'Uzkimyosanoat' together with Saudi company ACWA Power is implementing the project "Organisation of green hydrogen production" in Chirchik city.
Under this project, which will cost $88 million, 3,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and 52 MW of wind pipes will be put into operation in the republic at the first stage in 2025, and 500,000 tonnes of green ammonia and 2.4 GW of wind pipes at the second stage.
The efficient use of alternative energy resources, producing mineral fertilisers from green hydrogen and targeting high value-added products to global markets will be among the first in the world.
