Uzbekistan
In cooperation with the Malaysian company Meraque, an agreement has been signed to localize the production of smart agricultural machinery and drones in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region, within the premises of the Scientific Research Institute of Agricultural Mechanization. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
Under an agreement signed between the Malaysian Institute for Agricultural Research and Development and the Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, seeds developed by Malaysian breeders will be introduced to Uzbekistan. These rice varieties are resistant to salinity and drought, have a black color, elongated shape, and aromatic properties. They will be cultivated in Uzbekistan as a trial. At the same time, Uzbekistan’s "Devzira" rice seeds will be exported to Malaysia.
Additionally, in partnership with the Department of Fisheries under the Malaysian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Uzbekbaliqsanoat Association, projects will be launched in Uzbekistan to develop intensive fish farming, biofloc technology, and shrimp cultivation using advanced Malaysian technologies.
Furthermore, with the support of the Malaysian Agricultural Marketing Agency, efforts will be made to establish the export of Uzbek-grown fruits, vegetables, and silk products to Malaysia.
Moreover, an agreement has been reached with JAKIM, Malaysia’s halal certification body, to organize training courses for Uzbek farmers and entrepreneurs on obtaining halal certification.
