According to the Ministry of Energy, all necessary infrastructure and gas pipelines in the country are ready to accept high-pressure gas.

Uzbekistan plans to begin importing Russian gas through Kazakhstan from October 1 this year. Press Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan Hasan Tashkhojaev reported this to TASS.

“In accordance with the plan, supplies of Russian gas to Uzbekistan will begin from October 1, all necessary infrastructure and gas pipelines are ready to receive high-pressure gas,” said a representative of the Ministry of Energy.

For reference, the government of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, signed a 2-year contract with Gazprom for the supply of natural gas to the Republic with a supply volume of about 2.8 billion cubic meters per year.
