Uzbekistan will host the Futsal World Cup in 2024. This decision was made on Friday at a meeting of the Council of the International Football Federation (FIFA) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Uzbekistan will host a competition of this scale for the first time under the auspices of FIFA. The Club World Cup in 2025 will be held in the USA in an expanded format with the participation of 32 teams. FIFA has also approved the regulations for the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament.

The application process for hosting the World Cup will begin in the third quarter of 2023. 48 teams will take part in the World Cup. FIFA is confident that the championship "will have an unprecedented impact on world football," as more national teams will have the opportunity to play in the world championship.
