Uzbekistan’s Airspace Officially Receives the Code UZ
Uzbekistan
As of October 2, 2025, Uzbekistan’s national airspace has been officially assigned the international code UZ, UzA reported. The decision, coordinated with global aviation organizations, aims to enhance flight safety and integrate the country more deeply into the global air navigation system.
Additionally, unified parameters have been introduced nationwide: a transition altitude of 13,000 feet and a transition flight level of FL150. These measures establish consistent rules for all aircraft crossing Uzbekistan’s territory, improving coordination between pilots and air traffic controllers, reducing navigation risks, and expediting decision-making.
The introduction of the UZ code makes Uzbekistan’s airspace more visible on the map of international aviation, simplifies transit routing, and strengthens the country’s role as a strategic aviation hub in Central Asia.
