Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover exceeded $4 bln

In January 2024, Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $4.2 billion, which means a decrease of $870.1 million or 17.2% compared to January 2023, the Statistics Agency reported.
Exports in January 2024 totaled $1.11 billion, which means a 47.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2023, while imports increased to $3.08 billion (+4.1%). As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover was negative and amounted to -$1.96 billion.
Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 137 countries of the world. The largest volume of trade is recorded with China (27.2%), Russia (18.3%), Kazakhstan (6.5%), Türkiye (5.1%) and South Korea (4.3%).
In terms of the structure of foreign trade turnover, a significant share is accounted for by Tashkent city, which accounts for 47.0% or $1.97 billion, while the smallest share is noted in Surkhandarya region - 0.8% or $35.3 million.
