Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference meeting was held on measures to further develop the Olympic and Paralympic movement, take mass sports to a new level, and increase the physical activity of the population.

We must not become complacent with the results achieved in Paris
"Sports should not be seen as just games and competitions, but as a powerful tool that represents the nation’s genetic heritage, the strength, and prestige of the country worldwide. It must be considered a top priority," the President stated.

For this reason, such a large-scale meeting on preparations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games is being held for the first time.

During the meeting, it was proudly noted that Uzbek athletes won a gold medal in pairs figure skating at the Winter Asian Games for the first time in 26 years, marking a new chapter in Uzbekistan’s sports history.

Additionally, Uzbekistan’s amputee football team became the champion of the Asian Championship held in Bangladesh.

At the Asian Cycling and Para-Cycling Championships in Thailand, Uzbek youth secured 1st place in the team standings.

The President congratulated all athletes, their coaches, and parents on their outstanding achievements.

It was also emphasized that we must not become complacent with the results achieved in Paris. The goal is to rank among the top 10 at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. To achieve this, everyone, from top officials to district mayors, must work hard.
