On April 24, 2025, the city of Samarkand hosted another significant historical event. As part of the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, together with Oguljahon Atabayeva, visited Samarkand’s ancient landmarks.

The first stop was the mausoleum of Amir Temur. The guest became acquainted with the historical legacy of the great commander and highly praised the Uzbek people’s deep respect and reverence for their history.

The next destination was the Bibi-Khanym Mosque — a site known for its magnificent architecture and historical value, which left a deep impression on the visitors. During the tour, the delegation also visited the legendary Registan Square, where they explored the madrasahs and other historical monuments. Oguljahon Gurbanguliyevna especially noted the cultural richness and architectural beauty of Registan.

The guests also visited the Konigil tourism village, where ancient handicraft traditions are carefully preserved. There, they witnessed live demonstrations of traditional arts such as handmade paper production, ceramics, and gold embroidery.

During the visit, the parties exchanged views on preserving this ancient heritage and passing it on to future generations.

Presidential Assistant Saida Mirziyoyeva remarked, “Samarkand is not only the jewel of Uzbekistan but also a vital cultural center of the entire region, where the history, art, and spiritual legacy of Central Asian peoples are harmoniously intertwined.” She also captured and shared these historic moments on her social media platforms.
